I was privileged to be invited to give a program to a local 4-H group. At the beginning, for a short while, information about the basic characteristics of birds was presented, and then we went outside. Outside, I introduced the use of the Merlin app, and we used it to identify bird songs. We were also very fortunate that a few wild birds came down to eat from our hands along the trail, especially since this is really a winter activity.
