 Three Poems Written Long Ago

Cherished Reverie

Tonight the moon arose to its royal throne,
Again to sit among the burning stars
And watch we two our disjoint ways alone
To move - - perhaps so close and yet so far,
While each the other's searching eyes to find,
Our hearts to meet as one in soul and mind.
This one desire: that we shall someday meet,
Our paths to intersect and then to run
As one
Through Life's eternal blessed streets.
It's here our goals of triumph shall be won,
In each the other's eyes to see the truth - -
That this our joyous love will keep us in our youth.

Thoughts in April in Eastern North Carolina

Look at all the Green,
How it mingles with the Blue!
Look at all the Red,
How it glistens with the dew!
Look at all the White,
How it jumps out as new!
The day is bright with hope
For winter dreams coming true.

My Girl Twilight

The twilight stepped into endless night
As her youthful form slipped from sight
And all the sounds of normal bliss
Seemed strange and dull in deep abyss.
Her eyes before had warned of this
When brightest day became a dimming light,
Until all was gone, the truth the night.
